I have a HP V242h 24" LED Backlit Monitor and i am looking to buy a ASUS VG248QE 24" Full HD 1920x1080 144Hz, I have a gtx 1050 ti and Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-6700 CPU @ 3.40GHz, 3408 Mhz, 4 Core(s), 8 Logical Processor(s)
Is it worth it to buy the new monitor?

well have you ever played on a 144hz monitor? because i believe that once you start playing on a monitor with a high refresh rate it looks amazing but if for some reason you need to downgrade, it would look horrible. and what if you want to watch some TV? how would it look then? i my opinion you shouldn't upgrade

Not unless you plan on significantly upgrading the GPU.

Going from 60hz to 144hz monitor is a big upgrade even if your rig can not push even near 144 fps.
On 144Hz, you can at least disable VSync for good. Getting far above 60fps to max the benefit of having 144hz monitor, well, this is another topic.

GTX1050Ti is too weak to push high fps on new AAA games. I would also upgrade the graphic card to GTX1070. Going as near as possible to 144Hz (or even higher) is the only way you can max the advantage on having 144hz monitor.

For some processor intensive games e.g BF1, you might need even to upgrade your cpu too, to push high fps. From I7 6700, this is not yet fully crucial tho'.
Just go for the stronger GPU first.

BTW, once you are used to 144Hz monitor, you will never wanna go back to 60Hz.

I will use my pc for gaming like overwatch. I have a monitor that is 60 hertz and when playing overwatch I get 70 fps. My question is if I would get a 144-hertz monitor right now would I get better fps than 70 fps? My pc specs are up there.
