Hello, i am having a very annoying issue with my monitor..(samsung 23 inch free sync 144hz)
whever i get an fps of below 100, the games feel as if they were running at 30-45 fps, which is very very annoying and makes it very hard to aim.

this happens in multiple games such as PUBG, escape from tarkov, battlefield, overwatch and so on.

i have a pretty strong pc(i7 7700, rx 480 8gb, 16gb 2400 of RAM) , but still i cant always have 100/110+ fpc at all times sadly.
i thought freesync was supposed to make the games feel smooth while in the freesync range(ultimate engine has a very low threshold that i never reach), so i dont understand why are my games so choppy!!

it is not an overheat issue, ive checked that, nor is it lack of power, my psu is strong.

please, im this is driving me crazy!!

thanks for reading :)

Yes, screen is on fullscreen, also tried borderless and windowed( for the hell of it), freesync is enabled both on AMD catalyst and the monitor.
Monitor type :C24g70 23 (Yes, display port is plugged)

Question from Daniel_532 : "Choppy gameplay with high fps"

It sounds like you're getting high frametimes. Please list all of your specs. Also list the make and model of your power supply.

Sounds like your power supply might be causing the problem. I've read that it can't supply enough power to a system when it's hot. So the bad frametimes might be caused by the PSU not delivering enough power when it's hot.

Frametime is the time it takes to deliver the frame. If you have a high frametime gameplay can feel choppy despite a high framerate.

But when im gettin above 100 fps my games feel great, so how could that be? rainbowsix siege for example is nearly constant 144fps for me, butter smooth no problems at all.
escape from tarkov i get 60-80 fps, feels like 40.. could it not be something wrong with freesync ?

Well when you're getting such a high framerate it will feel smoother even if you get a high frametime. If you get a frametime of 33ms then 60 will feel like 30 fps. The frametime will naturally go down a bit when you get into higher framerates but I'd assume that 144fps feels like 72fps to you. Which would indeed feel smooth.

but other games i used to run on 60hz feel ALOT smoother now on the 144 hz..
i dont know man, this is just so strange... maybe its just games that dont support freesync and anything under 100 fps on a 144hz monitor seems choppy? very confused
