My choice is between the 1440p: Asus VX24AH and 1080p: Asus VG248QE. I've seen that IPS displays tend to produce MUCH more accurate colours (And better viewing angles) tan TN's but is it really that noticeable when gaming? Is it really worth loosing quality of a panel both in terms of type and resolution to get a 144Hz panel, I will be playing mostly FPS titles but is the difference between 144Hz and 60Hz that noticeable. Thanks.

I compared them while I was buying it at a local NCIX store. They were on display at the store and visually they both looked good in their own way. Because to me the picture quality didn't look that different , I chose the TN panel for its benefits - response time and sale price.

Have you ever compared it to an ips? what were your thoughts?

I have a 24' 1280p 60hz IPS and a 24' 1080p 144hz TN both from Asus. They sit right next to eachother and I always game on the IPS monitor. The colors just look so much better. I didn't notice much of a difference (any actually) between the two regarding 60hz vs 144hz. Granted, I don't play a ton of FPS games. I've been told by friends who used to competitively play CS that realistically only at the pro level does it make a difference.
