1440p 60Hz or 1080 144Hz

Hi, my current system is:
1080p 60hz Asus Monitor
Asus GTX 1070 Founders Edition 8GB
Corsair DDR3 16gb 1600
I7 4770K

I would like to add another monitor preferable will be using as my main display (gaming). budget is $200. I am between choosing a 1080p 144Hz or 1440p 60Hz. What would you recommend please? Thanks alot

It all depends on how long you plan on using that system. The higher the resolution monitor you use, the more frequent you'll have to upgrade your components. How often do you purchase new computers? Are you the type of person that likes to keep an existing build for as long as it can last or are you the type of person that buys a new system ever few years?

Are you playing CS:GO, BF1, Overwatch, and other competitive FPS games? Go for 144Hz.

Are you playing the Witcher 3, GTA V, or other single player games? Get 1440p for the immersive graphics.
