Hi guys!

I was wondering if you guys could recommend a good 1440p display for a GTX 1070. I recently upgraded my GPU to a GTX 1070 and felt like I wasn't unleashing all its potential on a 1080p display.

It doesn't need to be curved (if it is, I don't mind, of course).
1440p display (obviously)
at least 60 hz (144 hz would be nice, but I favor resolution over refresh rate)
As cheap as possible.

Thanks in advance!

Solution
Response time alone is not everything, 1ms vs 5 ms response on 60-75hz monitor does not make one single noticeable difference.
Pay more attention also to other stuffs like refresh rate, etc.

TN is fast and the cheaper solution if you want to have high refresh rate e.g. 144hz. Avoid 60hz-75hz TN panels, since you have only all the bad characteristics of TN and do not receive th good thing TN can provide.
If you want TN, get better those 144hz TN monitors.
Normal IPS is slow but it provides far better image reproduction quality (color, contrast) and viewing angle e.g. PB278QR, U2717H, etc.
High refresh rate IPS is the best of everything but sh*t expensive e.g. PG279QR and XB271HU.
IPS especially those fast IPS also has it's negative...

Assuming your proc is still strong,
GTX1070 is good for 1080p...144/165hz monitor, 144fps goal
GTX1070 is quite on it's limit for 1440...144/165hz monitor, 144 fps goal
GTX1080 or 1080Ti is the better option for 1440...144/165hz monitor, 144 fps goal

As cheap as possible will not bring you 144hz 1440p, those are expensive.
You will end up having max Dell U2717D or ASUS PB278QR. 60hz 1440p, if you use only as cheap as possible.
If you want ASUS PG279QR or ACER XB271HU...well....they cost more

Let me expand on the "as cheap as possible". I'm looking for a display that costs 400-500 euros. 550 euros tops.
Oh, and guanyu, thanks for the suggestions, i'll look into them.
[update]
I've looked into your suggestions, and the ASUS looks pretty good. I have a question about the response time. Will I really notice the difference between 1ms and 5ms if I'm gaming? I would probably notice it if I concentrate on noticing it, but will I if I'm concentrating on the game, not the display?

In regards of your suggestions of the GPU, I already have the 1070, and I'm not planning on buying a new one in the near future.

I've found a similar monitor to the ASUS PB278QR, namely the Asus PB277Q, which has a 1ms response time as opposed to 5ms, also 1440p resolution, but the PB278QR is quite a bit more expensive than the PB277Q. Is this just a coincidence or are the specs on the website i'm viewing it on lying?

[UPDATE]
I've found the difference, one has a TN panel and the other an IPS panel. Is an IPS panel worth it for a 100 euros extra?

IPS especially those fast IPS also has it's negative perks like extreme backlight bleed, IPS glow, etc. ...well..nothing is perfect...

PB278QR is a 60hz 1440p IPS monitor
PB277Q is a 75hz 1440p TN monitor...is actually cheaper...

Personally, I do not want to have any TN monitor anymore but I make exceptions if the TN panel is relatively cheap and can go to at least 120hz.
You can see, I am using Acer XB270HU (144hz 1440p IPS GSync) and ASUS PB278QR.
For me, PB278QR is the better option than PB277Q.
