I have a HP Omen 27 1440p 165hz monitor which I am connecting to a new PC. When I have tried to select the DP option and plugged the cable in, I just get a black screen with no input detected. I have tried plugging in from different ports but none have worked. HDMI works with it though, but it is limited to 60hz. There is no option at all in any display or NVIDIA settings to set the hz at more than 60hz. I am using currently a 1.2 cable.

Thanks for anyy help

Solution
you have to have a graphical processor that can actually output that refresh rate at that resolution through HDMI.
check your system specifications if it even supports higher than 60Hz @ 1440p.
it may just need a higher iteration of HDMI cable to allow that, if at all.

regarding the DisplayPort not functioning;
try different output ports, different input ports(if available), different cable, and a different display.
if the DisplayPort output really isn't functioning, return\RMA the device.
