Hello,

I am planning to do 1440p gaming. I am buying a gtx 980 ti. I would go for 4k, but that card is not futureproof for 4k games, as i want to game on 1440p ultra on all games on a gtx 980 ti, 60fps+.
I have made a build on pcpartpicker and i want u guys to see it and tell me if it will live for the next 5 years. Also Please ignore the peripherals and monitors, they are just the price of another monitor i want and equipment. Also please note that i took 64gb ssd only for windows.

Here's the link :

Yes! This is an awesome finished build. I am jealous...enjoy it bro :)

The only thing I'd say if you still want to save money is on the case - but I assume you've chosen it because it's caught your eye and you're willing to spend a bit more for aesthetics; I totally agree, that case is the most beautiful around, enjoy it!!

Other than that, the PSU is overkill at 850W, which is ok if you plan to SLI in the future, but if not then you could save on that as well.

As for waiting for AMD's 300 series; yeah why not? I personally think the 980 Ti is the best possible at the moment and will stay that way, but a few more weeks of waiting shouldn't hurt. The wait will make it more exciting when you finally get it.

That's a great build, i never say this but you are 2-3 months away from Windows 10 and Intel Skylake that will use DDR4 memory, i think it is worth waiting just a little more. Play a game or two for the next two months from a small developer just to kill time until new tech comes out lol.

Also you can try and get a cheaper case and use the savings for a better SSD in terms of size. Also if you are not overclocking you do not even need a K CPU, that's like $50 right there.

If I may make a suggestion, it would be to go with a bigger SSD. You will be surprised how much Windows updates will pile up data on that drive. Also, there are many programs out there that simply do not let you change the installation location... they usually are not large programs, but they DO add up. I think 120 GB drives are the sweet spot for SSD's that are mainly just used for Windows and they are quite cheap now.

Thanks everyone for your answers. I will be waiting for the Amd 300 series card and see if they're better than the gtx 980 ti. I also love the look of the case, thats why i chose it. I will also wait for Windows 10 to come out i guess so if its only a 2-3 months away. I went with the 850w because maybe i might sli years later just in case. And it looks like 65gb is low so i will be going for 120gb. thank you everyone for your help! Cant wait to build this :)
