1440p really choppy gameplay no matter what fps

I'm playing bf1 at the moment and getting about 80fps which is so low compared to the benchmarks. What's going on.

Temps are fine

Gtx 1080 SC
I7 4790
12gb ram
Old motherboard
Pg279q
750 corsair PSU

Internet speed of over 200
Ping max 30

Not sure why I'm lagging so bad. Got new drivers etc

are you running a 60 fps monitor? also, ive hearing a lot of people complaining about bf1 performance, so maybe they havent fixed the issues yet? not sure :/

A youtuber i watch has 980Ti's in SLI and has been having similar issues. I think the high end stuff is struggling right now.
