144hz monitor on MSI Apache GE60

I'm looking to buy an ASUS VG248QE this weekend. I am currently using an Apache GE60 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834152406). However, the laptop only has VGA and HDMI ports. What will I need to achieve 144hz with my current laptop if I buy the ASUS this weekend? Thanks.

You will need a different laptop. VGA and HDMI cannot output at 144 Hz, so you will not get that benefit of the monitor from your GE60 laptop. Sorry to say :\ You need DisplayPort or DVI Dual Link to get 144 Hz. Converters will not achieve this because the port you'd be plugging into cannot output at that frequency.
