I managed to snag an RX 580 for retail price, so was looking for a good monitor to pair with the GPU. Already have a Ryzen 5 1600 along with 16 gb of 3200 DDR4 memory.

I hear that once people went 144hz, they never go back, but others have said that Freesync with an RX 580 is worth it. Both monitors would vost roughly the same ($250 CAD). Thoughts?

Hi Tai_5,

You'd be better off getting the 75Hz FreeSync monitor over the 144Hz non-FreeSync. This is because the RX580 won't be able to reach 144fps in the majority of games which will cause issues such as screen tearing. Seeing as your card will be hovering around the 80fps mark at max settings in most games the 75Hz FreeSync monitor would be a much smoother experience.

I hope this helps,
