So this is where im at. I got $300. I can either buy a TN alienware 240hz 1080p refurbished or a 144hz 1440p asus used but in pristine condition. Also a TN panel.I'd say go 1440p144. The higher resolution makes it feel a lot better, and the lower refresh rate is not very noticeable unless you've been on 240hz for a while already. You can also get better color quality panels (IPS, VA) at 144hz than at 240hz, which is only TN.
You can get 1440p144 VA panels new for that much. In fact, you can get this IPS panel for 20 dollars more: https://pcpartpicker.com/product/Dj...d-270-2560x1440-144-hz-monitor-vx2758-2kp-mhdSo this is where im at. I got $300. Im most likely going to end uo getting this one brand new.Personally see a lot of variables here.
If this panel is going to be over 32", go for the higher resolution. If you are sitting really close to it, get the higher resolution.
If under that size and you are sitting a couple of feet away I would likely consider sticking to 1080. 240hz is a lot, but....
Ryzen 7 2700x. I dont think that i'll be able to hit the 240 fps so why should i get a 240hzWhat’s the rest of your system?
Not terrible but not the best either for very high FPS. My vote is 1440p 144Hz.Ryzen 7 2700x. I dont think that i'll be able to hit the 240 fps so why should i get a 240hz
