I plan on upgrading to a triple monitor setup with the Asus VG248QE which is a 144hz monitor. How would I make it so that the monitors are sharing the game while keeping the 144hz. (I have a GTX 980Ti)

Solution
I do have 3 of the Asus VG248QE's and while the color isn't the best, the gaming experience is great. Very smooth and fast response time. If you set the height and angle right on all of them, the color should look fine when gaming in surround mode.

I have 2 780ti's in sli, but crysis 3 on ultra will bog me down to 40fps or less, so it defeats the purpose of 144hz.

but cs:go will easily cap at v-sync, and many previous generation FPS games will have no problem running at 100fps plus making good use of a 144hz surround set up.
Do not do it for a couple of reasons:

This Asus is a bad monitor, with PWM dimming and bad color presets.

Any TN monitor watched from an angle looks bad because of TN gamma shift.

One 980ti cannot fluently handle such a resolution without ruining the graphics quality, not even mentioning high fps that are needed to take advantage of the high refresh rate.

Your best bet is to buy an Acer X270HU that, thanks to its 144Hz 1440p AHVA panel with G-Sync, offers a great and immersive experience.

I wanted to get the monitor for competitive gaming, like in CS:GO and Dota 2. Which is the reason why I wanted the 144hz and low response time.

Have a question for the OP, how set are you on 3 monitors? I personally can't stand bezels, they take away from immersiveness. You probably would be interested in the Acer Predator X34 that is coming to stores in October. This panel is a 34" 21:9 IPS Ultrawide with a 100Hz refresh rate and G-Sync. It is sure to more favorable, at least in my opinion, then 3 144Hz displays in surround. Just something to think about.

Or get three panels. Though TN panels are inferior to modern IPS displays.
