144hz VA panel choice?

Hello to all on the forum,

I am looking to buy a new monitor for gaming and game modding to replace the Samsung c24fg70

I had to return the Samsung as I was getting really horrible contrast issues (I knew the screen had issues rendering text, but this was affecting all areas of high contrast), so given the hell I've had with returning it I'd hopefully like to avoid Samsung, just in case.

with this in mind, would anyone have any recommendations for a 144hz monitor with a VA panel for the best compromise? My budget is £300 and space-wise I'm looking at 22 - 24 inches.

I have looked at the Optix MAG24C, but any advise would be appreciated a lot.

@insolito that's a very interesting option, but I really don't have room for it - my limit would be around 24 - 27 inches due to the space I have on my desk.

Thank you for your answer however, It is in my price range so I'll still consider it and see what people say about it.

My main worry is about buying another monitor that has the same issue my Samsung had: returning that screen was annoying enough, so to get another with an unfixable fuzzy image would be a nightmare.

EDIT: after reading the Tom's Hardware reivew for the ASUS ROG Swift PG248Q - and finding that tuning can produce an colour depiction that seemingly can rival VA and some budget IPS - i think I'll go with this instead. Heard of too many issues with VA panels regarding text/ everyday use to warrant using it.
