Hey everyone I'd like to say first I am a content creator and use my PC for more then just gaming, that being said I've been doing pretty good using a 2 year old (3080 ti/12900h) laptop for my rendering/video content for the last few years. I'm looking to get a desktop and for this price range it looks like I can afford either of the two choices. Which would you get a 14900KF with an RTX 4090 or the brand new 9950X3D and an RTX 5080, I'd also like to say I plan on gaming at 2K/1440p and will be getting a new monitor for that as well. Any opinions or suggestions would be great. Thanks in advance!

If these are equal to you in terms of cost, I'd get the RTX 4090, hands down. The RTX 4090 will serve you much better than the 5080 in both games and content creation. The 14900KF will serve you better in content creation.
Just make sure you update your BIOS to the latest. Also, make sure the 14900KF is a new, in box CPU. Reference Intel 13th and 14th gen instability for more details.

It'd be for a re-certified PC with 14900KF and 4090 actually, but they have a great warranty program, so yeah.

I will if I can get that combo only offered with 14900kf right now
I re-read the main post and found the "14900kf+4090" isn't described with "brand new". I won't buy a second-handed 14900kf due to warranty requirements, and the only choice is 9950x3d+5080.
But, could you wait for another one and a half month? At that time there should be plenty of MSRP 5080 on the market.
