Here is what I'm thinking...

CPU - i5 3570k
MOBO - asrock z77 extreme4
RAM - g.skill ripjaws 8gb 1600
GPU - gtx 680 classified
PSU - corsair ax850
CASE - corsair 800d

This brings me to about $1500. I am thinking that I will get this now, and than in October I will have enough money to water cool so i can do a lot of overclocking than. Heres the problem - i know that the 800d is a hotbox but it is good for water cooling. If i dont overclock until i watercool, will i be able to last until october with the 800d's stock fans. If not, could you guys recommend me some good fans that are not too loud and possibly on the quieter side. I also have another question about the gpu, i have but looking on a lot of forums lately and apparently the classified has its own water block but i can't find it anywhere (evga.com, newegg, amazon, ect) so my question is when i order the classified will there be an option to include the water block or will be become available in a few weeks. thanks for all the help in advance!

i understand your reasoning behind the tx750, but i want at least 850w because i plan to go sli and have many hdds/ssds. also, i didnt choose the ax850 because it was gold certified, i chose it because it was a reliable psu that was modular.

The ZT 750W is also modular and is cheaper. Even with SLI and a lot of SSDs/HDDs, 750W is still enough.

You don't need to spend so much on your case. A HAF X will do fine. I know you don't need 1050 watts but the 850 watts was exactly the same price. The Cooler Master Hyper 212+ is very good. It will give your CPU good temps even if you overclock it to 4.5 Ghz. In total the rig costs about $1520. Have fun with your build.

price ought not matter but wattage required. since efficiency takes a huge nose dive under 20% load on the PSU (210 watts in this case) it will cause the PSU to get hot and have the fan speed increase and be noisy as it sits there doing nothing.

no more than a 650 to 750 watts PSU is appropriate for the listed specs.

A lot of overkill above. First of all, if he doesn't know most of the features of a motherboard, chances are he won't use them. An ASRock Extreme4 Z77 Gen3 is $125 cheaper and does just as well. GPU is overkill as well. You can get a GTX 670 for $180 less (the DC2 TOP) and only be a minimal % less in performance (about 5). Spend $5 more and get the Hyper 212 EVO. All that cuts the cost by $305. For $90 less, get the TX 750V2 or for $100 less, get the OCZ ZT 750W. Another $40 can be saved by switching to the HAF XM, which is just as big for a Mid-Tower Case.

i am planning to get the 800d because it is very good for water cooling and i will be coverting to water cooling in october. the haf x does not have enough radiator room to cooling a cpu, a gpu (possibly 2), and maybe even the ram.

i dont need all these savings because i want to spend $1500. I want a 850w psu because i will be getting another gpu (likely in december) and i will also be getting more ssds/hdds. Also, i want the 680 classified because it will overclock infinitely times better than the 670. Also, i want the 800d because i will water cool in october and the haf x doesnt have as much radiator room.

Just because it is a higher GPU in the ranks (marginally) doesn't mean it has more OC headroom. It is the same for both.

the 680 and the 670 have the same headroom, not the classy. the classy is made specifically for OCers and can get pushed to much higher clocks than the normal cards.

If your spending another $5 dollars on the Evo you might as well just buy another fan for the 212+ and have a push+pull setup. He's planning to upgrade to water cooling anyways so no need to pay another $5. I chose the 1050 watt power supply because it was exactly the same price as the 850 watt. He wants full tower (Corsair 800D) because he's is going to a have water cooling.

Thanks for the awesome help! What fans do you recommend because i am a complete boob when it comes to them. Also, what brand of thermal paste do you recommend, or does it not make a difference? Once again thanks for the help!

Depends how much you want to spend on the fans. If you want the exact fan that came with the 212+ it would be the Cooler Master R4

The best fans i know are the Cougar fans. They are extremly quiet and blow air out quite fast. I have two of them on my Corsair H80. But they will cost you more money then most of the other fans out in the market.
