$1500 PC System

I have decided to build my first PC. I need everything (keyboard, mouse, monitor, OS). Looking to keep the budget between $1400-$1600.

I want it to be capable of gaming (bf3). Ill also use it for multimedia, web browsing, coding, photoshop etc..

Figured Id ask some experts on what hardware to start looking at and researching. Thanks!

For that budget you get the best reasonable Cpu for gaming. The motherboard is excellant, especially at that price. The cooler is on sale and very efficient with great thermal results for overclocking. 1866mhz Ram because its about the same cost as 1600mhz. Depending on how much coding and photoshop you do though, you might want to get 16gb's of Ram and a 4770k Cpu. If that is the case, can rework the build. For gaming though, no reason to change it up. You get a TB HDD, and 120gb SSD. The caveat with this SSD is you can actually use ALL of it and not suffer for it. Most SSD's have to have 20% free to avoid performance issues, this one does not.

The graphics card is great. No reason to spend more, and your budget allows you to spend this much. I love the case because it allows for great cable management. This is the non-windowed version though. Decide if it's worth spending more for a windowed one. The PSU is at a great price and has plenty of power for SLI and overclocking. Included an IPS monitor to judge cost, and plenty of money left over mouse/keyboard/speakers.

:edit: Changed the monitor's retailer to newegg. Didn't want Microcenter's price to mislead because it's only good for pickup.

Thanks for the reply! What difference will I see in the upgraded cpu and ram. Hyperthreading with 4770k?

Yes. Hyperthreading doesn't benefit the I5 in games. Neither does more than 8gb's of Ram. However, there are applications of course that do benefit. You'll have to decide if you do enough of them to benefit from spending more money, or if 8gb and an I5 is enough for those.

I like the list you put up. Id change the case to the titanium grey version though. I don't do much coding or editing right now. I am teaching myself a couple languages right now but I am moving out soon and I need my own computer.

At 1080p, Ultra for at least the next year.
