It's just 2xR9 390, which means that its actually 2x8gb and it's really 8gb memory.

Not really, they each require 2 slots so best you can achieve is 2 of those, and you need a full-ATX motherboard with 4 slots and a full tower case.

In theory yes but 3 way crossfire has poor driver support and usually runs poorly, can perform worse than 2 way due to the poor drivers. Not worth it.

No you cant go 3way, it requires 3 slots, at best you can find a motherboard with 8, so 3way is close to impossible, not to mention you woul need 12x8pin, and good luck at finding a PSU with that many, and 2000Ws. Best is 2way crossfire.

No matter how many you connect you will also have only 8 gig of memory . Crossfire and SLI mirror memory associated with each graphics chip. That is why a dual gpu card needs 16 gig . Each gpu has 8 gig and those two lots of 8 gig both hold that same data

The RAM of the GPU's is ALWAYS mirroed in crossfire and SLI set ups .

So yes the R9 295 might have 8 gig but its really 4 gig and another 4 gig doing the exact same thing

That sight is likely reporting the VRAM as a total in a DX12 supported environment (Windows 10, DX12 supported game).

r9 295x2 is a single card there is no crossfire bridge it's only 2x r9 290x card but i wonder how it over overkills titan x which has 12 gig
