$160 CPU+MOBO+RAM Budget Gaming Build?

Hello,

I am in the process of upgrading right now. I mostly play CS:GO and Paladins. I already have an RX 460 and I am just upgrading the other components. Here's what I've come up with:

Intel Pentium G4560 - $64
MSI B250M Pro-VD - $79
DDR4 2133Mhz 1x4GB - $27-$37
Total - $170-$180

I am not really gonna play AAA titles so I think I can step down the CPU and MOBO.

Here's my backup:

Intel G4400 - $56
Gigabyte H110M-H - $64
DDR4 2133Mhz 1x4GB - $27-$37
Total - $147-$157

Is this backup build ok? Thanks to everyone!

I would look to AMD

AM4 new socket, overclockable if you wish, easily swap to Ryzen if needs be.

I agree with R_1, the first build is better, definitely in the long run. I do not advice you to go with the Athlon because it still uses AMD's old architecture and it is significantly slower than the Pentium.

Sadly, X4 950 will never be available in my country and AM4 MOBO cost around $90-$100.
Guess I'll go with the G4560 😛
