Recently, my lovely $80 Acer 1600 x 900 monitor "broke" but was "fixed"

I love playing on small screens for some reason, idk.

I am getting a new PC and I would like to know if I should take in consideration of my 1600x900 monitor. I wont be getting a new one anytime soon and I'm just wondering if framerates will be more friendly as it's not 720p or 1080p. However I can play 720p.

if the resolution does not bother you, then no need to get a new monitor. certainly will save some money on the new build since a pretty cheap gpu will allow for max settings and solid fps at 1600 x 900.

as noted a gtx 950 or something like an r9-270(x) would be plenty of power for that monitor. much cheaper than similar performance at 1080p or higher.

Haha no. I am basically asking if gaming at 900p would have a framerate difference compared to gaming at 1080p.
I got my answer, though. Thanks for the help!

Will be getting a 950/960 as a graphics card for my PC build.
