16gb 3333mhz ddr4 c16 vs 32gb 3000mhz ddr4 c15

I am building a system based on x99, with specs way beyond what I will ever use, and I am fine with this. I just want to know which may benefit the upcoming oculus PC consumer version, I know some heavy hardware is needed to run at full.
So far I have-
Intel i7 5960x
Asus Rampage V mobo
Intel 730 ssd x2 (raid 0)
Asus Nvidia 980 matrix 4gb x2 (sli)
Corsair ax 1500i psu
Corsair 750d case

What memory should I choose of the two options listed? Im going with corsair dominator platinum series, and these two options are only $100 apart, so price is not a factor. ..a secondary question could be- Which is more 'unnecessary' for gaming- more memory, or faster memory??

Neither, 16GB is plenty for Gaming now and into the future (8GB is current entry level), with your rig 2133 will suffice though I'd go 2400/2666 for longevity of the rig as a minimum

Awesome, thanks for the advice! As a follow up, in regards to memory in general- what would provide better overall performance- high MHz, but less GB and worse latency rating (c16)? ..OR slightly lower MHz, but with more GB and better latency rating (c15)

More GB and tighter latency, especially with quad channel and DDR4

Cool, thanks again man you've been a big help. there's so many options when it comes to memory, its tough to figure out what to pick.. I was losing my freakin mind trying to figure it out on my own lol
