I've been having this problem for a while and its finally gotten to the point where im sick of it and want a solution. I have Time Warner Cable internet. When i got to speedtest.net, im getting around 17Mb/s download speed and 1.15Mb/s upload speed.

The thing is my computer (which is connected via ethernet cable) is only getting 2 Mb/s max, along with any other device in the house. Ive tried turning all of them off and nothing, still the same. Im thinking its my router or something of that matter. i just want to know if someone has any input or even a solution would be greatly appreciated.

You will not get the full amount I have around 80-100 mbs on speed test but only like 9-20 downloading stuff. So if your real slow and are concerned, contact your ISP and verify everything is working well. If not they will fix it and might even compensate you for your troubles :)

i have checked many other testing sites.

and knowing the bit and byte differnce seems to make more sense now, 2x8=16 which is right around where im sitting. so yea i guess my download speed is where it should be. im probably going to be contacting time warner since im am paying for there top internet plan.

To some maybe, to me no. If I'm paying $60+ per month for Internet and only getting 2MB/s download speed while my friend is paying the same with at&t uverse but is getting around 27MB/s that makes me very unhappy with my time warner
