I'm not into overclocking.... so should i get an 17-7700 with a GTX 1080 ti for gaming at 1440p 144Hz or I'll face serious problems????

Solution

This is plenty for 2k gaming. You will game at highest settings like a champ. You will not have any problems.

the i7-7700K does offer slightly better performance, i would recommend getting it because you might want to overclock in the future. If you can afford it of course. Playing some more intense games... a single 1080Ti maybe wont cut it. You'd get around 100-120FPS, if you got G-Sync or you arent as sensitive to stuttering, go ahead. I never benchmarked a 1080Ti, my number is based on math only, so i may be off.

actually I can't afford an i7-7700k nor i have a g-sync monitor.... what if i get an i5-7600k

What about a 8600? Its slightly better than a 7700 and uses a more up to date motherboard. I would not buy a 4 core i5 now, the i5 7600k is now equivalent to an i3 8350k, 4 cores is low end.

I agree with sizzling, the Coffee Lake CPUs are better. However, they might still not be readily available, depending on where you live. The i5-8600 is about the same as a i7-7700, but with more cores.
