I am building a computer to use for SolidWorks. I am currently and student so I'll be using this for school and hopefully the better part of my career once I finish. I am going to build it myself (I have experience building gaming systems but this is my first for design). I really want to just make sure that everything I have chosen is compatible. But of course I would like general feedback if any areas could use some major consideration. I'm definitely open to making this a Micro ATX system with a smaller case if that is possible. I see that the GPU is "low profile" which assumes that I would need to use an adapter to make it fit with the setup below?

For that price you can get a 2nd generation TR4 CPU and get more cores and be able to upgrade to the 3rd generation TR4 for the same money:

Yes if there's two CPU power ports both must be connected. I'm not entirely sure but I think in order to get the other port powered you must use one of the 8 pin connectors. But don't quote me on that.

That's an EATX (extended ATX) motherboard. You would have to make sure your case meets the dimensions.

It turned out that the outlets on the wall I was trying to use would not power up the power supply so I just switched outlets and everything works fine.

I've got it hooked up and running but have noticed that the fans on the 5700 only spin on startup and then stop spinning. I'm using hardware monitor and all temperatures on various points range from 26 to 40*C so wondering if maybe that is why they aren't coming on.

Fans wont spin if they are not needed. Try running something that ultilizes the GPU and you will see as the temps rise and fans will start spinning.

Huh interesting. Sometimes that does happen.

Yes that happens on modern GPUs - the fans only work when the card is in full usage. When it's in idle they do not power on.

That is incredible. The fans on my HD 5700 I got back in 2011 spin nonstop and were extremely loud and if I wasn't into gaming I would be annoyed. It is incredible how much efficiency and computing power has improved in one decade. Much more impressed with this transition than the previous decade of transition (1999-2009). Very excited about what the next ten years brings based on this.

So at what temperature would they normally be kicked on?

They kick in when you do anything that requires heavy rendering. My 1060 works the same way and so does my2070. If you're just using Windows for basic tasks you won't see the fans power on. But if you are running under a heavy workload then you will see the fans start doing their thing.

Guys please can anyone suggest me a build not over more than 80-90K INR ( 1200usd) for solidworks . I live in india so the prices are much higher as compared to the states .

Any replies and suggestions appreciated :)

Thanks in advance.
