I'll start this off by saying I have my RAM in the correct configuration for dual-channel and I have set the proper values manually in the BIOS, including the multiplier, voltage, and timing values. Depsite this, my memory is still running at a slower speed and I'm curious as to why that's happpening. I have Corsair Vengeance Pro 2 x 4 GB memory. It's rated values are 1866 MHz, 9-10-9-27 timing, and 1.5V.

Solution
I know CPU-Z can be twitchy with the way it displays speeds, but if you set the speeds in your BIOS, and the BIOS doesn't show the right speed, that's odd indeed. Usually there's a simple XMP profile that you can enable, rather than having to change all the values yourself manually.

What I did was first setting the values, saving and restarting, and it reports 1333. I then went back and set the XMP on top of the set values, still 1333.

My guess would be your ram is undervolted. have you overclocked your cpu? perhaps you'll need to add some voltage to your nb or your cpu/nb in addition to the ram.

Are you playing with your FSB/BCLK? What is your FBS speed currently?

My motherboard is GA-Z87X-UD4H and CPU is 4670k OC'd to 4.4 GHz. I've only really been changing the CPU/Uncore multiplier, voltage, couple of other settings but I don't recall seeing FSB or BCLK. XMP profile is enabled, which would be 1866 MHz as shown in BIOS, but it still reports 1333 MHz with XMP on.

update your bios.

if xmp still doesn't work you'll have to disable it and enter the ram timings in by hand. Its no big deal, the platform is still new, and it's highly possible gigabyte hasn't added your ram to the xmp profile yet.

Already on latest BIOS, already entered timings by hand. :|

if you enter the timings by hand you have to disable xmp; have you done that?

I may have, but I'll try it again. Also, my BIOS has "Enhanced Performance" and stuff, should I worry about that?
