I just did a quick search on one of the TI transistors and thats what it came back as. I don't really know thoughWhat makes you say that?
All I know is he was born in 1960, and worked in Chicago most recently :/It was probably something that he helped design.
It could be avionics, radio, radar, disk drive, tape drive, test equipment, who knows. If you knew what companies the person worked for you might at least have an idea on what type of equipment it was used in.

This is clearly different than what you have, but there are similarities in the overall look and design, including the lack of chips on the PCB. As such, I'd hazard a guess that it's from a similar antiquated calculator or a similar device.
You might try emailing the guy that runs the website, he may be able to identify it.
