1GB download speed on DSL. HOW DID IT HAPPEN?

Judge for yourself.. I currently have the AT&T Elite DSL package which theoretically can deliver up to 6mbps download and 768kbps upload. I run a Speedtest once a night just to confirm I'm still getting a good speed. EX: 4.8-5.3mbps download - 610/670kbps upload. However, I almost peed my pants when I saw this number.

IS THAT EVEN POSSIBLE ON COPPER WIRE?

^Well that's not possible. How much do you get while downloading ? I have a real slow connection ( 128 Kbps) with speedtest.net showing that I have 260 kbps download and 160 kbps upload, while in general I only have 25-36 kbps download and 1-10 kbps upload.

I usually get between 350-700Kbps download on each computer. It really depends on the server I'm downloading from and if the rest of the family is on at the same time or not. My upload for each computer ranges from 70Kbps to 110Kbps.

there has to be some sort of caching going on. I see it says "iPhone". The smartphone probably has a "tweaked" web browser with an aggressive cache.

You did a manual speed test with the size download set to 100kb. I got a 3GB/s on a 3G connection once
