I want to buy a new monitor for gaming and im on a tight budget.
The games i uselly play are rhythm games on high levels so i need the monitor to be as quick as possible.
Should i buy a tn with 1-2ms (Samsung S24D330H ‏24) or an ips with 7ms (lenovo LI2264D)?
Thanks in advance!

Typically, if you're asking that question, you should go with IPS for the better picture.

On it's own, the 4 ms response time difference isn't much. The speed of TN panels does come into play when you're optimizing the latency of your entire input signal chain, however; things like selecting a keyboard for input latency and accuracy (and mouse for that matter), overclocking the polling rate on your USB input, etc.

So unless you're browsing articles like this http://blog.wooting.nl/what-influences-keyboard-speed/ , or there's another feature difference like adaptive sync, I'd recommend the IPS for you.

P.S. IPS panels get down to 4ms. Where are you located? There might be a better IPS monitor around the same price.

I would NOT buy anything that you plan on gaming with that has a 7ms response time. I went from a 5ms to a 1ms and I could tell the difference (FPS shooters).

If you can, look for a 5ms (or lower) if you go IPS.

I would look for a VA panel. Screen quality is better than TN but below IPS.
Response time is better than IPS, not a good as TN.
