1st time PC Build Help

Dude you can not build a PC without an SSD these days. Get even if it is the cheapest one. Your general PC experience will improve so much PC will boot up in seconds.

I had an old PC that i hated, i put in it a $50 128GB ssd, that PC actually became usable.

I have a question and a suggestion for your build.
- Do you really need the Ethernet adapter and the sound card? the mobo comes with integrated audio and Ethernet so it seems an unnecessary added cost to the build, besides I don't know if the sound card will be really better than the integrated audio.

- I would change the PC case for something better, that Raidmax case may seem like a good deal but the PC case is something you don't change quite often when upgrading the system so it makes sense to spend a bit more on the case so you can look at it in the next few years thinking you made the right choice when you buy it instead of hating that piece of metal.

- the ssd is a nice touch but it will only speed up booting and loading times on the OS and apps installed on the drive, since the ssd are cheaper now it makes sense to get one.

- the Asus GTX 970 Strix graphics card is really good but you may want to check the Gigabyte GTX 970 Windforce it was cheaper like a week ago and its an amazing Graphics Card.

@Rakanyshu I simply do not know about integrated audio and Ethernet, I thought the mobo didn't come with it? Anyhow, I was thinking the Ethernet adapter was something that I would have to buy to use to plug in my Ethernet cord for internet, which is a must have, unless of course there is one that comes with the mobo?

As for the case, I am really not wanting to spend too too much more on this build, as I currently am a tiny bit over budget already, though, I am willing to pay a little extra. Would the http://pcpartpicker.com/part/azza-case-csaz206s be a better deal than the http://pcpartpicker.com/part/raidmax-case-atx248nwb ?

As for SSD, I am willing to wait a tiny bit longer for my machine to boot up and to load games and such if it means saving money, after all, wouldn't it be worth it to wait an extra 30 seconds to a minute?

For the Gtx 970 windforce, that seems to be a bit too over my budget. Right now I am like 150$ over, and I don't really want to go too much farther over, but I am willing to keep it at around 1150$ if necessary, like it currently is (1143$).

- So you should save on the extra Ethernet and sound card since the mobo you selected already comes with that so you'll save like 30 bucks there.

-That Azza case seems to be a better deal than since it comes with 3.0 usb front panel instead of the 2.0usb that has the Raidmax and the black interiror its a nice touch too, also it has some cable management which will help with airflow and less dust build up.

-Yeah the Gigabyte I just checked and it went up in price again its a shame last week I checked it was below the Asus for 20 bucks.

Thank you so much for the help, I am very happy with your responses. Anyhow, one last simple question, do you think thermal paste is needed for me to buy? It's only about 6 bux, but does a thermal paste tube or simply thermal paste come with the cpu or something? Also, is there any way I can like give you a "Thumbs up" or something to promote your profile?

I'm glad to be of help, I believe the the Cooler Master Vortex comes with its own thermal paste, if you want you can take the popular Artic 5, or use the one that comes with the cooler.

Also if you are not overclocking your CPU it comes with a stock cooler with thermal paste pre-applied or a small bag of thermal paste and it should work just fine at stock speeds, it would make more noise than the vortex.

I think you can pick my answer as the solution I'll appreciate that. :)
