$50 more for the 256 SSD - All I will be using the computer for is video editing - large avi and mp4 videos will be stored temporarily on it as well.

The main programs I will be running are Photoshop and After Effects

SSDs are worth it. They can improve your work flow substantially.

That said, 256GB isn't a lot if that's your only storage medium. Windows will take a good 15 or 20GB or more.

Add in some programs and the fact that it's good to keep 10 to 20% SSD space clear for garbage collection, aka maintenance

and you soon have no space left for those bulky files you mentioned. So yes, get a hybrid drive and you can perhaps get

a 50/50 deal of both worlds. There's hybrids which have more SSD space though.
