Hey I have 2x2GB (4GB) of UDIMM server RAM and was wondering if I could purchase a additional 2 4GB sticks (8GB) giving me 12GB of RAM in total.
a. Will these work together the (first two 2GBs are Dell sticks and the second two 4GB sticks are crucial "Dell Certified" RAM) or should I remove the old RAM???
b. How should I go around installing these (what slots?).
BTW I am installing in a Dell T110 Server

You got 4 slots with 2 per channel. Put the 2GB ones on the same channel and the 4GB ones on the same channel and it should be fine. Just make sure they are all running the same speed in case the newer ones are faster. 1333MHz is the supported speed according to Dell. You might have to set some things in the bios but not necessarily.

Hi there, u can try it , it should work.

Is the RAM same voltage?

I will check, it does say "Dell Certified RAM" so I assume so...
The new RAM is 1.5V and it is 1333MHz any easy way to check the old RAM (is it on the sticks- Dell PCs are easy to get inside).

Use the CPU-Z @ http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/cpu-z.html
Look at the bottom... where is 1.5V on the pic.
