Ready to test my first build and the 2 4pin connectors are giving me a hard time, actually one of the two...the other is fine. The second one has not gone all the way down. I would say its more than 3/4 down, just does not show leveled as the first one. BTW, this is the ATX 8 pin connector.. No problem with the 24pin. Now I am nervous about checking my system as i had planned. Tried to unplug both of them with a nose plier, but its hard to grasp. I do not want to break them and I don't want to short anything..Would it be ok to try out the system under these conditions? Always a snag..I thought the cpu would give me a hard time, but no, it has to be a simple connector.

Hi
Were the 2 x 4 pin connectors clipped together before inserting as 1 x 8 pin connector or plugged in separately ?

Might be best to extract both and try again
Especially if a powerful system that needs atx 8 pin

If un clipped should not need tools to remove

If necessary remove board from case and also psu so you have clear space to see what you are doing

No, they are 2 separate 4pin conn. The reason i mentioned tools to remove them I had a hard time trying to pull either one out...A really tight fit. Fortunately, I did not install into the case, and yet, eventually I am going to have to unplug them when I get ready for the case. I just wanted to try the quick method outside the case. Light is no problem and looking at it again after a nice lunch, one plug is just barely 1/16th of an inch higher. Don't know if it would work or damage the board at that level.

Hi

In most cases the 2x 4 pin atx should be clipped to gether to ensure they are in the correct orientation

Check the latch on both 4 pin atx plugs are next to each other and clipped to the socket

Google atx 12 v connectors pictures

For an examples
