Hello, friends.

To save some dough, especially with current hard disk prices, I am hoping to use my laptop's hard drive (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822152234) in an upcoming desktop build with a converter (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817986005).

However, I've read around and some people recommend against doing this because of power issues. However, they weren't very clear. Can you folks give me some clearer insight on any risks of doing this? As I understand it, using a converter will make it interact with my PSU just the same as a normal 3.5" drive.

FYI, my planned PSU is a Corsair 500w (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139027).

As always, thanks for your help!
