2 case fans 1 header

Hi, i have a pc with an i3 4170 and an XFX R9 280x. I have a case that didnt come with fans, so k must mount them myself. The problem is I have only 1 fan header on the board.
1. What can I do (the molex to PSU isnt an option since i dont want it running 24/7)
2 Would 1 fan on either the side or the back be enough or do i need both?
3. Is it safe playing 1 - 2 hours of League of Legends a day without the case fans for about a week?

Case with no fans is very bad for a 280X video card.
Plug one into the fan header on the board the other to a molex and order a Y adapter so both fans can be plugged into the one motherboard slot.

You can purchase a fan splitter on amazon for ~ $5

A fan splitter will turn one header into two.

Do I need both of them? Dont they say the Y splitters arent good for your mobo?
