2 gtx 780 ti or 2 r9 290x ?

I am setting up a new pc w z87 board(asrock extreme11 or maximus vi extreme) 4770k, 32gb of ram mainly for gaming and work( commodity trading platforms) i want to get 2 gpus that will last a couple years before i have to upgrade....im choosing between 2 evga gtx 780 ti classifieds or 2 sapphire tri x oc r9 290x? Thanks

Will you be running multiple screens? If so, get 2 of r9 290x, since they have 1 GB more memory and can handle extremely large resolutions better.

780ti sli performs better and runs cooler but costs more.

It's all your choice. If you're playing at higher resolutions, or on multiple monitors, the extra vram that the R9 290x offers will be better. But for a single 1080p monitor, the 780 ti's will be better.

I am pretty certain sli 780ti does better in most games even 4k resolution.

I was waiting to pic gpus but i was going to get the asus pb278q possibly 2 screens now if not within a few months id add the 2nd
