*Deep Breath*

So the time has come to upgrade my trusty 2020 system that got me through various lockdowns in some form of sanity.

I am somewhat out of step with the new tech, I was once right on top of it but as you can tell by my dear old system i'm going to need some gentle assistance and i will be sadly waving goodbye to my lovely old 1080 Ti which has to have been The best GPU ever. They sure dont make em like that old gal anymore...

I'm looking to spend probably about £2-3k to futureproof for the next couple of years (hopefully more) of releases and i primarily game and edit hi res photos in lightroom etc.

I have no major affiliation to any brands (ive had nvidia and AMd before, but tbh i cannot make head nor tale of them anymore) TMI.

Mobo is well out now, i dont think i can even upgrade my processor higher because of the different discontinued chipset / pin.

I essentially want best bang for my buck if i need to replace, GPU, Processor, Mobo, probably monitor to a higher refresh rate and upgrade to DDR5 i guess?

i'd like to keep my tower, the cooling, the PSU and if i can my memory but aware that may not be possible.

Over to the nerds! 😀 Many thanks

My current system is as follows (from Speccy)

Hardware:

Monitor: Samsung U32J59x 4k (3840 x 2160 (32 bit) (60Hz) Monitor (non HDR)
Box: Cooler Master MC500 Mid Tower
Cooling: Corsair Liquid Cooling system and fan assist (5 fans)
Power supply: Corsair RM850X

Software / System:
Operating System
Windows 10 Home 64-bit
CPU
Intel Core i7 9700K @ 3.60GHz (8 CPUs) 44 °C
Coffee Lake 14nm Technology
RAM
32.0GB Dual-Channel DDR4 @ 1066MHz (15-15-15-36)
Motherboard
Gigabyte Technology Co. Ltd. Z390 AORUS PRO WIFI-CF (U3E1) 32 °C
Graphics
3071MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti (ASUStek Computer Inc) 36 °C

447GB INTEL SSDSC2CW480A (SATA (SSD))
476GB ADATA SX8200PNP SCSI Disk Device (RAID (SSD))

This can be recycled.

Corsair is the brand of the AIO, what is the model of said AIO? How old is this AIO? Chances are you can't recycle the AIO due to the mounting system.

Power supply: Corsair RM850X
How old is the PSU in your build? What did the PSU power throughout it's tenure in your build?

IMHO, you're looking at a new platform, something that's DDR5 and concurrent. Users are advised to stylize their threads with info asked of in this therad;
and community can chime in with worthwhile suggestions.

Hi ok - thanks - so are you saying that I need to rewrite the whole thing again with those headings? I mean it's pretty clear what i'm asking but i can if you think that is necessary. the whole build was 2020 and the GPu has been powering my Pc for gaming for that long, never stretched or stressed afaik and a big beast when i bought it. I do not know the model of the Corsair cooling system as they all look pretty similar but i guess how it mounts on mobo might be my issue? Will re post if you think i should

You also dont have to upgrade everything all at once. You could start with a GPU upgrade for now, then change out the rest of your platform in another year or so.
