It's going to sound silly, but when I bought my second gtx, I assumed I would get twice the fps. This is not the case, I believe it has something to do with gpu scaling? I'm running two gtx 780's purely because I'm an animator and digital illustrator and refused to pay like £3000 grand for a workstation card (I'm only 22 and the aforementioned skills aren't my job, but my hobby) so I couldn't afford a silly card.

However to get to my point, I expected my games to run a but better in sli but they have about 30-50% increase which isn't the best. Now this is in sli configuration.

Does taking them out sli make them faster?

System:
I5 3570k
Gtx 780 sli
Msi z77a g45
16gb avixer 1600 ram
2x 1tb caviar 7200rpm hdd
870watt corsair psu
Corsair carbide 540 case

Removing the SLI bridge makes them completely independent I believe. You never get twice the performance from SLI, but 30-50% extra sounds a little low. 780's are some pretty powerful cards, the only thing I can think of is your CPU could be holding things back. You have a K series with an unlocked multiplier, so try over clocking and see if anything changes.

Right, thank you both. I'll try and over clock. I was worried about bottlenecking if I'm honest, I don't want to start changing mobo etc cos I like the setup. With it being a lga1155 socket. Would it be worth moving over to a i7 3770k? :)

Thanks
