Hi,

I would like to know how to make 2 Internet Connections with only 1 Router.
My Router has a Dual Band function. I want 1 to work for myself for private use and gaming(5Ghz). And 1 for the rest of my family(2.4 Ghz).

So for Short:
1. How to make 2 Internet Connections using 1 Router?
2. What is Dual Band?( sorry i am dumb)

My router is the TP-Link Archer C7 1750.

Thanks in advance

Solution
Correct.

You have one internet connection: the modem.

The router simply routes multiple devices through the single connection. Wireless, power line adapters, Ethernet cables, all that stuff, are just access points to the same internet connection.

You already have two, and it switches depending on what is best. If you're close it will be 5, if you get far away 2.4 is better.

To what end do you want to have seperate networks? It isn't going to improve performance in any capacity.

Hard wire your PC and call it a day.

I mean like 2 Different Internet connections with different names and passwords.
I want to have my own network(5Ghx) privately so my family wont use it. And provide them with a 2.4 Ghz internet connection if possible.
Prefer a Private one that only I can access

So I won't be able to setup 2 different internet connections?
Only 2 Access points (Login/Pw) that connects to the same internet connection?

So that None of my family can access my Internet Connection.
I really want a fast connection for watching multiple live-streams and play games online.
But I can put another router on and let them use that router's internet connection?
And let me myself take the Archer C7's internet connection?

So I only can get a second i ternet connection if I buy another Internet Provider....

I now have 2 internet connections. 1 from the Modem>Router and 1 from Router>Some Internet Plug through Electricity. That is extended in my room
