Question New build, getting a weird error in event viewer even though things seem to be working fine... Is this a problem? How do I fix it?

It just constantly keeps giving me this error every few hours. It seems to happen when the computer comes on or wakes up from sleep.

"The driver detected a controller error on \Device\RaidPort1."

Source is stornvme
Event ID is 11

I'm not even using Raid, so I'm not sure what's going on...

Is that only drive you have ? It's and M.2 NVME drive so you don't need SATA ports enabled and they are quite possibly set to RAID instead of AHCI. With nothing there you would get an error.

Yes it is my only drive. I checked the BIOS and it says SATA is set to AHCI. Also nvme raid or whatever is disabled. I also just tried disabling SATA altogether and the error still persists. I also flashed my BIOS to the latest version, and the error persists.

You mention "every few hours": Does the error occur only at certain times on the clock or perhaps some regular intervals beginning when the system boots up?

Look inTask Manager > Startup and also look in Task Scheduler.

Check for any unknown, unexpected, or unusual apps being launched at startup or perhaps being triggered later on via Task Scheduler.

Turn off/disable all power savers and sleep modes. Determine if the error stops.

My thought being that some utility or app slipped in during some reinstall or update.

So far it seems to be on boot up. I will look at the event viewer after the PC comes on and the error might be like a few minutes ago... so it seems like it errors out very early in the boot process. Then there are other normal errors like couldn't connect to microsoft this or that which I dont want anyway, but they are a little after that, more in line with when my desktop actually came up.

Is it possible there is an issue with any of my hardware even though everything is working great? I usually don't even look at event viewer... and if I hadn't this time, I wouldn't know anything about this and just be happily using my PC.

Just got home from work, woke my PC up and it has the error at that time... but it also has a few errors from while I was at work. Unless the PC woke up at these times for some reason, I'm not sure what caused them. The latest error is 8:36, then there is one at about 7:30, 6:30, and 5:30... then 12:22. The one before that is when I first got up and woke up my PC, 6:57.
