Question 2 nic adapters in 1 computer

I have 1 computer with 2 network adapters.
I want that a specific adapter will go out to the internet, and the second will work with LAN.
How do I configure this ?
Is it possible to mark 1 adapter as main adapter ?

What does "work with LAN" mean?
Direct connection to a NAS or other host?
Share the internet connection to other hosts?
