My DSL modem has ONE "network" connection [green] and multiple ethernet connections. I want to hook up a 2nd [new] PC to the modem until everything from the old PC works on the new PC. How can I do this with only 1 "network" [green] connection outlet? Can I use a splitter [one end has 2 inputs, "DSL/input" and "phone".

What is the specific make/model of this object?

It is a Netgear modem from AT&T, which provides my DSL. The box says "DSL COR 7550 NEW" and "AT&T High Speed Internet Wireless Gateway". I don't know whether that means it is a modem or a modem/router. Its inputs are as I described, one marked "DSL Network" [green] and four Ethernets [yellow] and came provided with 3 yellow cords and 1 green one. I really don't know how to hook up both my old PC and the new one so that I can ensure that everything works on the new one. I also have several "splitters": one end says "wall"; the other end has 2 inputs, one says "DSL/HPNA"; the other input says "phone". I don't know if I can use this in the modem's one green input. Thank you.

So it is a Netgear gateway. AKA a router.

The 4 ethernet ports on the back are for connecting 4 individual devices.
No "splitter" needed.

Assuming it works, and you are getting a connection on one PC(?), then connect a second PC to one of the other yellow ports.

Thank you. Sorry to be so stupid, but does this mean I can simply ignore the one green ["network"] connection and use one of the yellow cords to connect the new PC to one of the remaining ethernet inputs, and both PC's will work as long as I need them? I appreciate your help. [When I say "ignore the one green ["network"] connection, I mean, just leave it plugged in.]

There are 4 LAN connection on the back?
Yellow, or maybe greenish yellow?

PC's should be plugged into those.

Can you post a clean picture of the back of the Netgear device?

I am trying to post the picture I took but don't know how! I don't know what is meant by a "LAN" connection; there is ONE GREEN connection. labelled "network"; it's not "greenish-yellow". There are FOUR yellow connections, labelled 'ETHERNET". Sorry; the picture I took is in a word document, I don't know how to attach it.

OK, no prob.

Disregarding what is connected to the current PC, what other cables are connected to this Netgear?
Power cable., and....?
