I got a 1TB Toshiba dt01aca100 hardrive, and it has 2 pin connector on it, I always wondered what it's for, I did a bit of research, and I can't find anything.
1) A 2-pin (RX/TX) serial interface used for extremely low-level administrative tasks at the factory, including firmware adjustments. When I say low-level, I mean stuff even I don't know about.
Not important. The only connectors you need are the SATA Power, far left. And the SATA DATA cable, right next to it. Whatever it is, it's probably obsolete.
