OK 1st off I'm a low level tech savvy guy. My problem is my modem and wireless router is in the basement. The wireless router isnt pushing a strong signal to the upstairs PC in my 1000 sguare foot house.

All my gadgets and PCs in the basement have a full signal.

So my plan is to get An Ethernet adapter 1 male /2female. To plug into the modem. 1st input is to my Dlink router is next to the modem. 2nd input I will run a 25foot Ethernet cable from the modem to a bedroom below the PC room upstairs in order give a stronger signal.

Am I crazy to think this will work? What else do I need?

Cheers.

Won't work. First that adapter does not create 2 ethernet ports out of 1 it is used to split cable cable pairs but even if it did work the ISP will not allow you to have 2 routers..ie ip addresses without paying for them.

You are better off plugging the new 25ft cable into dlink router and then run the second router as a AP. Your first router will control all the ip and such and the AP will just provide wireless signals.
