Hi everyone

Problem:
So i decided to reinstall W7 x64 after running it since release. After fresh install when copying files from one raid to another, copy speed starts at about 700-500MB/s and then slowsdown. After few seconds speed reaches about 20MB/s and whole system starts to stutter. This was not a problem before reinstallation.

HW:
MB: Asus P8Z68V Pro Gen3
SSD: 1. Raid 0 - Crucial M4 2x128GB
2. Raid 0 - Ocz Vertex 3 2x256GB
Both on Intel chipset
BIOS/Firmware updated and set to RAID

Already tried:
Fresh install + system update + Intel RST updated (raid)
Fresh install + system update + Intel RST updated (raid) + SSD Tweaks
Fresh install + no system update + Intel RST updated (raid)
Fresh install + system update + without Intel RST
Fresh install + system update + Intel RST updated (raid) + Asus drivers and util.

One thing i cant remember, there was some setting for crucial M4 to set to make it work ok but i just cant remember what it was.

Any ides on what i should do, would be appreciated.

Thank you

I have exactly the same configuration but with two OCZ VERTEX 2 of 90GB each. One thing i suggest is to avoid using the Intel RST inside windows and just use the MOBOs BIOS RAID enable on the SATA channels that are your SSDs conected. Then after BIOS POST press ctrl-i (this is the intel rst of the controller itself) create there your raid configurations.

Check this picture for what i mean http://www.pcper.com/files/imagecache/article_max_width/review/2011-05-11/110510-210059-6.7.jpg

Here is an article on how to install SSD for caching, but you can read it in order to know how the Intel RST otpion ROM works for RAID. http://www.pcper.com/reviews/Storage/Intel-Smart-Response-Technology-SSD-Caching-Z68-Tested/Boot-Option-ROM-Boot-Performa

Cheers

Already did that, im runing both arrays set as raid 0 in Option ROM. The thing is it was working flawlessly before reinstall.

First try to remember and make sure you are using the same cluster size when creating the RAID on your two arrays (I imagine you have not change any SATA cables and/or ad remove anything on the hardware)
Secondly, what do you mean "some setting for crucial M4 to set to make it work ok"...where do you have to set this setting? Why is this setting mandatory for your M4 to work?
