Hello, I'm a newbie at this, also my english is not so good.
My old system is dying and I need a new one as cheap as I can get. The old one keeps giving me the 3 beeps related to memory, I think the problem could be in the motherboard, I have tryed different ram sticks, but my PC keeps givingme the 3 beeps randomly, sometime it won't boot in a day, sometimes it boots normal.

I will use the old parts like PSU, SSDs and my GPU. I'm not sure about the cpu Cooler because it is an old model and maybe won't fit new sockets.

OLD system:
Asrock Z68 pro3 m
i5 2500k @ 4Ghz
16Gb Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600
RX580 OC 8gb
Antec truepower 600 watts
coolermaster Hyper 212

What could I get for $200 that will last like my old system?

Solution
Hello,
You need more than 200$ to get something like your old mobo, cpu, ram (Speaking of performance).
Sell your old rig for around 140$-170$ and add it to your budget.
For final step with 400$ buy a Ryzen 5 2600-3600 PC with B450-Max board from MSI and get 16Gb DDR4 3000-3200Mhz for max performance.

Edit: My bad i read the problem now, sell the cpu for 60-80$, and the rams for 40-50$. The mobo is probably faulty if you are already test it out.

$200 gets you a bottom of the barrel motherboard and an Athlon 200GE (or I guess 3000G now) and 8GB of RAM.

So, looking for a replacement motherboard might be your best option. Not many, if any, used systems in that price range are anywhere as near as good as yours. You can get Haswell i5 refurbished business class hardware in that price range, but... they will be lower end i5 CPUs and not nearly as fast as yours.

I think my best option would be to buy another motherboard.

What board would you recommend for the 2500k? I just know the z68 and z77 for that socket

Edit: I have read something about a xeon that it is basically an i7 without the internal GPU, but it runs the same speed and it can be OC, and sells like for $30?
Maybe I would buy the board and that xeon

Is a good idea, but make sure the mobo and your cooler supports the tdp of the xeon. First buy the mobo and test if the system works again and then buy the xeon. If doesn't work properly return the mobo via Ebay or something like that, if the seller wants.

I can give some boards: https://www.ebay.es/itm/ASUS-P8P67-...169020?hash=item4d748228fc:g:G20AAOSw3bxbDRbf

I found an asus pbz77-m + i7 3770 (non K) + 8gb 1600mhz corsair. Unfortunately he won't sell just the board.
Would the 3770 OC even if it's not an unlocked processor?
Would the 3770 beat the 2500k OC?
I know these are old processors, but I can't spend much money right now.
