I have a similiar problem. If I don't lower my fsb to 100 my system either freezes or tells me windows isn't working properly. I bought a new motherboard and memory but that didn't fix the problem. I've conceded that the integrity of my processor is the reason behind my problem. I'm planning on buying a new one here soon. Good luck.

Mobo:FIC AN19e
Athlon 2000+
1gig Samsung 333mhz
PNY GforceTi 4400
Windows xp

Hi jimmydean. Gccslix has the same type of problem. He seems to think it is related to his mobo and crucial ram. It might be a problem with the north bridge and crucial ram. Keep an eye on his post and we can bothe hope he comes up with a fix.
By the way, have you tried uping the multiplier to see if you can get mork speed?

just to rule out the ram as the problem set the cpu to 133 but the ram to 100. if it starts working then its either ram or ram compatibility.

I doubt it's the RAM, as I've got some crucial PC2100 that happily runs at 175Mhz (30%+ over spec...), albeit at slow timings, so....

1)What have you set your mem. timings to? maybe the RAM can only do CAS3 @133Mhz
2)What are your temps? if it's a palamino core XP it needs good cooling.
3)What PSU are you using. these sorts of problems can be caused by a cheap PSU.

I had exactly the same problems with my old XP2000+, and a new PSU sorted them.

Well running comp at 6,4,4 cas 2.5 i am stable it seems at 121 mhz. I think it may be a heat issue. I am sure its not teh ram, im thinking its heat or cpu problem. This cpu i believe may have been damaged in my old shuttle ak32l

LOL i am stabley at 132 mhz fsb. At 133 it stil crashes. I can now say that it was a heat problem for me, innadequate case airflow due to crappy small case. It still is running hot , with much relaxed memory timings, but with new case soon ill be 133in it all the time
