Why did you suggest 2-way GTX 670 SLI instead just one GTX 670? Will the SLI make MUCH difference in render time?

Wouldn't it be better with the money of the graphic cards he get a i7 3970X Extreme Edition?

Which way (SLI or i7-3970X) do you think would he get a better render performance?
