$2000 Max Budget, Gaming Rig

I'm interested in buying a new system, but I'm not really up to speed on what exactly is good nowadays.
This will be my first time actually putting the parts together, so the easier it is the better (last time NCIX put it together for me)
My budget is $1000-$2000 and I'd like to buy it and build it as soon as possible.

Approximate Purchase Date: within the next month

Budget Range: $1000-$2000

System Usage: mostly gaming (L4D2, Bad Company 2, APB, Dead Island once it's out)

Not Required: RAM, HDD, other accessories like keyboard, mouse, etc

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: newegg.ca, but if ncix.com has better prices, it'd be good since the warehouse is right by my house

You really shouldn't need an i7 for gaming. L4D2 (any Valve game..) isn't hardware heavy. Dual core and a 9500 gt runs that on max. No blips. BFBC2.. yeah that is a bit more. I recommend a normal quad core, i5 2500k.

With that said, you could get a cheaper mobo (160ish dollars) with some USB 3.0s, 2x x16 PCIe and 4 ram clots but a max of 32gb. More than that ASUS Rampage.

First of all, your i7 wouldn't work with the RAMAGE. That has a different LGA socket than LGA1155 like your reference is.

I also want to buy a computer that I won't need to upgrade or replace for a few good years, that's why I considered the i7.
And wow I don't know how I missed that the Rampage isn't LGA1155

I would like to order the parts this week if possible, but I'm still yet undecided because I've heard that both i7 and i5 would be the best fit for what I want.
Anyone else have any other thoughts ?

1: what ram do you actually have?
b: I would go with the i5 2500k it has the best price performance ratio for gaming
iii: the i7 runs at .1 ghz faster than the i5 which in the grand schema of things for gaiming is not worth the 80
D: I think I remeber hearing that ncix has price mating could be wrong

I'd change the following and stay on budget:

mobo: ASRock P67 Extreme 6 ($190) More SATA & USB ports, and dual LAN.
cpu: i5 2500K ($220) It is only 100 MHz slower than the 2600K & you save $100.
RAM: bump to 8GB ($75)
SSD: Plextor 128 GB (rather than two 64 GB) ($199)
Keep the storage HDD, the PSU and the optical drive.
Case: Corsair 600 T ($145)
CPU cooler: Antec H20 620 ($75).
