Hello guys. I've tried searching the forum for this specific comparison but haven't pulled much info. Does anybody what's the major difference between the T and the M Series. It seems like the T series is being branded with the Atom name and the M Series with the Pentium/Celeron name. Two examples of hardware using each: Asus Transformer Book T100 (Atom Baytrail T Series) & HP Pavilion X2 (Pentium Baytrail M Series).

I've read somewhere that the T Series is more for the enthusiast (relatively speaking of course) and is more efficient and the M is for other users. The question is really -- battery duration aside-- can i get same amount of performance out of the M series as the T series. In other words, in terms of performance, which laptop would be better (T100 or the Pavilion X2)

Here's a comparison chart between the two:

Well according to Intel's (I believe) press release the atom is for ultra low power like tablets and it will run at a lower clock speed. The M series is more powerful and uses more power and creates more heat. So the laptop with the M series will get slightly better performance.
