Hi so my past two builds have had really bad stuttering going on and i dont know why

I switched 2080 and replaced it with a new 2080 and still the same problems so not gpu
cleared GPU drivers and reinstalled drivers
got a diagnosis at micro center they couldn't figure it out
reinstalled windows
edit control panel settings
windows tweaker turning security settings off
tried vsync

Once i fixed the problem for 3 days, i realised that adaptive sync was turned on on my monitor so i turned it off and it was very smooth. 3 days later it went back to being laggy not smooth and also had input delay. I tried turning setting off and on but no luck

CPU:8700k
MB: Asus Z390e
GPU: EVGA 2080 XC ULTRA
RAM: 3200mhz corsair RGB PRO 16 GB 2x8
SSD Samsung 860 Evo
Monitor: Asus mg248q
power supply: 750 gold evga

please help this has been going on for months and i am so frustrated

Another couple of things to make sure of.

Win10's Game bar is switched off. Mainly to stop Dvr recording as it records your gameplay automatically in the background and discards the recording if you don't do anything with it. Also associated with gamebar is fullscreen optimisation which is a blend between borderless window and fullscreen and can muck up gsync/freesync.

If using Geforce Experience to optimise games, i'd advise against it. It can pick silly settings for your games if use it to optimise.

Not really.

Try 1080p and see how it performs then. Try increase ingame resolution scaling on top of 1080p as well.

The idea behind freesync/gsync is within the fps range there shouldn't be any tearing + smoother gameplay without input lag that using only vsync introduces. With vsync off i can imagine you're getting much more fps over the range. That causes frames to split and drop seeming to look choppy.

If you are getting a lot of fps, cpu needs to pre-render each one and too many can drive up cpu usage. Higher cpu usage close to max can cause stutters especially in multiplayer where more cpu recourse is needed. So it can have a negative affect having too many fps.

How to monitor usages for various components such as cpu, gpu, ram, pagefile, etc + temps, there's a wide variety of stats you can have shown on screen while you play.

download and install chipset driver. Did you do that already because you were asking about these drivers earlier, did you forget?

Always restart pc after installing drivers no matter how small.

Not a good idea using those programs. We don't know if thats the cause of it or not, reinstalling Windows is on my mind after learning of this :)

Would probably be good to do so if you have the patience. Probably not necessary long as there's a restart at the end.
