I just got a new monitor (ad27qd) and i'm looking to get a new card to compliment it. I currently have a 970 and was debating on getting a 2080 ti. Should I get the 2080 super instead or will it not get 144 fps 1440p max settings? I don't mind spending the money on the Ti if it means max frames but if the 2080 super gets that as well then id obviously rather get that and save some money.

Wait for the 2080S reviews (7/23/19 release date), it hopefully will close the gap between the 2080 & 2080 ti for a bit cheaper.

What CPU do you have?
I have an 8700k so I'm fine there. The rest of my pc is a step up from my graphics card to say the least. I may just get the 2080 ti so I can actually use my monitor and then if the 2080 super is a better fit then take it back and get that one. If that doesnt sound dumb lol. https://pcpartpicker.com/user/Puretacticsxx/saved/7hMxGX

I'd also probably wait for the super reviews. Just use the 970 for now at some lower settings. Imo medium 1440 Still looks better than 1080 ultra.

If you absolutely have to try and max out your monitor grab the ti. But I can say this, my 2080@1440 ultra plays everything extremely well. Only one or two titles have issue besting 85+fps.

If you do that check the return policy, most places where I live have a 15% restocking fee so on a $1200 GPU that's almost $200.
